I am now 8 months old, weigh 28 kg +, am super sweet, and full of mischief. Aiyana says she feels like she has a small puppy in the house. The past few days I have managed to make sure her socks are always slobbery and all towels wet and chewed on on the corners. Oh… can’t forget… and all the food on the kitchen counter is for ME ME ME, and only ME, and yes, I help myself – how else would I get it? I started the New Year by eating up Aiyana’s special dinner raw before she had a chance to finish making it – that was REALLY good! I don’t think I get fed enough! HELLOOOO!!! I am hungry, I am big girl, I need more food!!! I beg but it doesn’t help. She doesn’t increase my rations, so of course I have to keep an eye on the kitchen counter, and the kitchen floor, oh yeah… AND the kitty litter box. Very tasty treasures in there, but I gotta be quick because it gets cleaned out all the time by the human in house. It isnt’ easy being a puppy-soon-woman-to-be…. haven’t had my first heat yet, but maybe soon… . Anyway, I am happy, healthy and my human absolutely adores me. Sometimes she is very strict and firm with me, but I usually do what I am told to so she is gentle and kind to me, and we have a super duper relationship. Every day I make her smile and laugh and every day I get alone time with her – that’s my favorite time of the day. Aiyana & I have had some nice walks alone together the past few days, some in the dark and under falling snowflakes around the farm, and one day we got up to the lake just as the sun was setting. Here are some photos from our walks…

I’m kinda cute, aren’t I?

Am I going up there someday?

On the farm… getting a whiff of something…

My nose hard at work…

BOO!!! I found you!

And another critter over there?

Me in a nutshell, preparing to pounce…

Or jump over standing dogs…

That’s all for this time folks, I am going out to play in the falling snow!
paws and kisses,
River

My official name is River Wild Of Kelimoor, inspired by Kelley Kalafatich, Meryl Streep and the title of the movie that they were both in, The River Wild. The long story behind my name is this… Kelley Kalafatich is one of most inspiring women Aiyana has ever met, an accomplished international expedition river guide and so incredibly gentle and good with people…. Aiyana worked as an apprentice expedition kayak guide one summer back in her home in Alaska, and had just returned from a kayak trip together with Kelley in Glacier Bay Alaska when Kelley got the job offer to be stuntwoman and double for Meryl Streep in a river movie, the movie was The River Wild… Meryl Streep is Aiyana’s all-time favorite actress… Since my father Trewater Tally has the word water in his name, Aiyana decided in December 2007 that the next theme for a future puppy litter would be water. The first name that popped into her head was River Wild Of Kelimoor. Due to a very sad event in January 2008 – the loss of my older brother Totem, Aiyana decided to have another litter sooner than planned and re-do her dream combination. I was born on April 18, 2008, exactly 13 months after Totem had been born and 3 months after he had died, and we brought Aiyana joy again. As a newborn puppy, Aiyana gave me Totem’s I.D. color of orange, not knowing at the time that once again she would be keeping the orange puppy of the litter.

Here is some name trivia for those who don’t already know… Aiyana shared Kelley Kalafatich’s first name of Kelley before she changed her name to Aiyana in 2002. The name Kelley means warrior and bubbling spring. As for my name River, it suits me perfect because I am addicted to plunging into rivers both fast and slow moving! As for the “Wild” part of my name – I live up to it!!! I am now 7 months old and have been raising hell and charming everyone the past weeks and months. Aiyana didn’t start a blog for me until today, so we have lots of catching up to do. Wait until you hear what I have been up to! I’ve been busy!
